A nice and cool Saturday greeted all of us yesterday as we set off on our office picnic at The Orchard Resort. The place is located on Satara Road, near Khed-Shivapur and around 25-30 kms from the heart of Pune.
The place itself is sprawling, with rooms to stay in, a large dining hall, bar, conference rooms, swimming pool and water park, badminton and tennis courts, a children’s park and a couple of TT tables.
The onward journey was replete with the usual dhamaal and ‘antakshari’ and so it was all the way through till we reached, ending with some choice dialogues from Sholay.
The picnic itself was great fun, with some pretty cool games and ‘stunts’ that elicited good laughs all around.. the ambience was also nice, what with a cool breeze, swaying trees and free flowing Kingfisher beer at hand 😉 and we finally closed the proceedings with a quick tambola session and a group photo shoot.
A nice end to an enjoyable but tiring day. This place is also pretty decent and is worth a visit once in a while.
