YouTube blocked in Pakistan
The present government in Pakistan has decided to block access to YouTube, the most popular video sharing site, apparently due to “anti-Islamic movies” that are on the site. All the 70 odd ISPs in the country received the orders from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.
Though nobody has gone on record to clarify exactly what they found objectionable, there were reports that a particular movie trailer for a film by Dutch MP Geert Wilders, which is anti-Koran, has raised the hackles of the establishment.
In the past, other countries have also blocked access to YouTube, like Turkey, Thailand and Morocco, to name a few.
