Select unread mail in gmail

At some point in time, we’ve all got overwhelmed with the unread mail in our inbox. Wouldn’t it be nice if it was possible to see all the unread mail together and then quickly decide which of those to read/archive/delete?

In Gmail, which has pretty much become the free email app of choice, I thought this would be quite easy. All you had to do was Select Unread. Thing is, you can indeed select all unread mail, but cannot view them all together.

The answer lay in the Google Help, which suggested some ways how labels could be used. In the search box, if you type in “label:unread(inbox)” without the quotes, as shown here, you get a list of all unread mails, which you can then action how you wish to.Label unread mail in gmail inbox
