US can kidnap Brits anytime
The United States has bluntly conveyed to Britain that it can “kidnap” British citizens if they are wanted for crimes in the United States.
When reading this news item, I couldn’t believe my eyes for a moment, but a closer look revealed that this form of kidnapping has been done right since the days of the 19th century, when bounty hunters were in vogue. Apparently, this law still holds good.
Considering how trigger-happy the present US government is when it comes to bringing “notorious criminals” to justice and playing the world’s policeman, this kind of cowboy-ism hardly comes as a surprise, though.
