UDF at Bengaluru International Airport

Ya, that’s the subject of an email I got in my inbox from Anshu Sarin, Deputy General Manager – King Club, Kingfisher, and this is what it had to say…

“With effect from January 16, 2009, guests flying out of Bengaluru International Airport are required to pay a User Development Fee (UDF) of Rs. 260 (inclusive of taxes). This fee is collected directly by Bengaluru International Airport.

The UDF is being levied for the provision of passenger amenities, services and facilities and will be used for the development, management, maintenance and operation of the airport. The fee has been approved by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

UDF is payable at the special counters located at the entrance of the terminal building. Payment can be made in cash, debit card or credit card (Visa/Mastercard only). If you are paying by cash, you are requested to carry the exact change, for quick processing. Also, transactions during peak hours (i.e. 0600 hours-1000 hours & 1730 hours-2030 hours) may take upto 10 minutes whereas, it will take 3-5 minutes at other times. You will be required to produce the receipt of payment at the time of entering the terminal gates.

Exemptions – Infants under the age of 2 years and Airline Crew on Duty. For any queries please call: +91 (80) 66782251 / 2255″

All you folks travelling out of Bangalore, sorry Bengaluru, you have been warned !! Carry exact change or else… 🙂
