After introducing a limited rollout of their ‘Lists‘ feature a week ago, Twitter has begun yet another limited rollout, Project Retweet, Twitter’s official integration of the retweet. Of course, those using third party Twitter clients have long been used to this feature, and it’s now available from your browser interface as well.

I happened to login from my browser a while ago and saw this notification at the top. To the uninitiated, Retweeting happens when a user shares interesting tweets from those they are following, using the RT syntax, so if someone following me likes a tweet I’ve posted, their tweet will begin with “RT: @atulkarmarkar”, followed by the actual tweet.

For some reason, if you need to recall / delete your retweet, there is an Undo function for this purpose. If you visit the profile page of those you follow, there is a green coloured retweet button which indicates whether retweets from that user will show up in your timeline.

If you cannot see this feature yet, don’t worry. As I mentioned above, this is a limited rollout, so eventually, you will. Happy Retweeting ! :)
