ABN Amro Make My Trip GO Card

ABN Amro Bank and Make My Trip have launched a co-branded credit card, the ABN AMRO MakeMyTrip GO Card. This is a Titanium card.

It is not altogether different from other such cards, though obviously there are more travel benefits associated with it. The word ‘GO’ is a bit confusing, although there is no association with GO Air.

Personally, I am now wary of any product from the ABN Amro stable. I used to be a one time loyal customer, with several relationships with them like a bank account, credit card, easycash and creditline.

The basic problem is that they function in a severely disconnected manner, like one hand not knowing what the other is doing. On several occasions, I’ve been faced with situations when one official tells me something, and another would say something exactly the opposite.

Over time, this was a form of harassment, as I was always on the phone, speaking with their customer care representatives, trying to sort out some issue or another.

Inspite of telecons with some of their senior employees, their abysmal level of customer service ultimately made me terminate all these services.

Good luck to those of you who sign up for this card !! :)

Update: Further to Royal Bank of Scotland acquiring ABN Amro Bank, there is a change in the name of the card.

Update #2: Effective 1st March 2011, RBS has withdrawn the MakeMyTrip program. However RBS MakeMyTrip GO credit card will continue to be operational and associated credit facilities will be available as before.
