Tata Motors today showcased their Rs. 1 lakh carat the Auto Expo being held at Delhi. The car is to be called the “Nano”, and it was the centre of attraction today.

The company has been under fire from several sections who believe it will increase pollution, lead to further congestion on battered roads, and worst of all, compromise on safety standards to adhere to it’s price tag.

Tata however said the vehicle meets all safety requirements and emission norms, and has pollution levels less than even a two wheeler.

The stock markets however, responded cautiously, as the scrip seemed to be doing well in the first half of the session, before ending the day at Rs.750, down around 3%.
