Google cuts Xmas bonus, offers Android phone instead

The financial slowdown has reached Mountain View, as Google plans to give employees an Android powered handset instead of the $1,000 cash gifts it usually gives. In countries where the phone does not work as yet, like the BRIC countries, Google will give employees $400 (which is the cash value of the phone).
