The Formula 1 circuit is seeing some interesting times. After Kimi’s Championship victory was put in doubt due to the inquiry into fuel irregularities, Hamilton then stepped in to say he didn’t want a title on appeal, and would rather fight for it on the racetrack.
This of course, made a lot of sense, and there would have been an uproar if the title was taken from Kimi in such circumstances. The McLaren team have anyway decided to appeal the stewards ruling, but they would be hugely unpopular should anything come of it.
Good news for Indians following the progress of the Spyker team as well. The guys at the FIA have accepted Vijay Mallya’s request to change its name to the Force India Formula One team from 2008 onwards.
The team was initially known as Jordan, then Midland, before becoming Spyker last year. I wonder how his sponsorship of the Toyota team will be affected from next year, though…
