Shillong guitarists make it to the Guinness Book

A record 1,730 guitarists made it to the Guinness Book of World Records on October 26th, playing Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” for just over five minutes, breaking the existing record held by guitarists from Kansas City. Although more than 2,000 guitarists were expected, those who showed up just barely managed to help break the record. 
362 guitarists from the Shillong School of Music took part in this feat, while others came from Assam, Mizoram and Manipur.
Shillong also holds the world record for the largest drum ensemble after 7,951 drummers performed for more than five minutes in October last year.
