Facebook has finally removed Scrabulous, and that includes countries other than the US.

Users of this popular and addictive game, who were hopeful of having a go outside the US, now have no option but to play either the “licenced” version of Scrabble, or the alternative game developed by the Agarwalla brothers, Wordscraper. The only exception is India, where a court case is still pending. (nothing surprising about that !! :)

Wordscraper, which uses circular tiles, allows players to earn quadruple points, and the ability to choose where extra points can be earned is not a patch on the original and more of an attempt to get around IP infringement.

In this case, I’d say both parties are to blame for allowing things to degenerate to this level, but the ultimate loser is the law, which needs to be significantly spruced up to avoid similar cases cropping up again.
