A coincidence, but without all the hype and hungama…

The recently released Bollywood flick, Rock On, features four friends who were part of a rock band before splitting and going their separate ways, only to reunite years later…

And in the real world, just happened to read to about Johnny Depp reuniting with his band, The Kids, for a fundraiser in Florida over the weekend. He had joined the band while in high school, and they had then split up, with Depp going on to become one of Hollywood’s top actors.

He strummed his guitar and sang backup vocals during the 90-minute shows on Friday and Saturday, cheered on by a crowd of around 2500 people, including his partner Vanessa Paradis and their daughter.

Depp and The Kids were part of the Sheila Witkin Memorial Reunion Concert, honouring The Kids’ late manager. All proceeds from the benefit go to the Dan Marino Foundation, which funds programs for children with special needs.
