Reliance Power gets a new CEO
J.P Chalasani has taken over as the new CEO of Reliance Power, an ADAG company, that was recently listed on the stock markets. Chalasani, a former Whole-time Director (business development) of Reliance Energy, has tendered his resignation from the REL board with effect from March 7, 2008.
He joined the Reliance Group in 1995 after leaving NTPC, where he worked for over 15 years. Chalasani has handled various assignments for the ADA Group including the successful bidding for two ultra mega power projects.
Reliance Power is the flagship company of Reliance ADA Group to develop, construct and operate power generation projects. The company is currently developing 13 power projects with a combined installed capacity of 28,000 Mw and was in the news recently after it’s not so successful listingand subsequent offer of a bonus issue to pacify disgruntled investors.
