Ramesh Sobti, who till recently was the Executive VP and Country head of ABN Amro Bank, has decided to move to IndusInd bank as the CEO and  Managing Director, following the resignation of Bhaskar Ghose as MD. IndusInd Bank is a Hinduja group company.

Sobti has over three decades of experience in banks like SBI and ANZ Grindlays, and of course, ABN Amro, which he joined in 1990. Meera Sanyal, who was the COO, will be taking over from him.

The IndusInd scrip closed flat on the bourses. It will be interesting to see what effect Sobti’s appointment has on the bank, which has been a bit of a laggard as compared to it’s peers.
