Pune University plans to set up a full fledged campus at Dubai, and will be the first Indian university to have an overseas centre.

Giving it company at Dubai will be Mumbai’s S.P. Jain Institute of Management and BITS, Pilani, but both are non-government run institutes. 

At Dubai, the Pune University chapter will offer 30 degree level programs, taught locally, and teachers from Pune will travel to Dubai for conducting classes.  All students who pass from this chapter will get a degree from Pune University.

The Dubai Government will pay for the infrastructure, salaries and logistics like accommodation and commuting costs.

The university campus will be located in the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), an extension of the Knowledge Village; with BITS, Pilani’s international campus.
