Pune Airport closes for renovation
The Pune Airport has finally closed for repairs…
In what is the first instance of any airport in the country being shut down for this time period (15 days), the airport had to be closed down due to urgent renovation as well as re-carpeting and repair work that was required. It will reopen on 26-Feb.
There was no great panic though, as this closure was announced some time ago, so people were prepared for it, but it still doesn’t take away the inconvenience of travelling to and from Mumbai Airport.
The car rental companies, cool cab operators and those running the volvo bus service are going to have a whale of a time, though. 
It’s the best time for them to make hay while the sun shines, and I can visualize rates for Pune-Mumbai travel commanding a steep premium for a while !!
