Nokia launches N78 in India

The Nokia N78 is now officially available in India. A pretty neat and sleek looking phone, it tilts the scales at just around 102 grams, and comes in two colours, cocoa brown and lagoon blue. It has a 2.4 inch screen, and comes with a 3.2 MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics. It also has a second VGA camera, mainly for video conferencing.

For a change, standard 3.5mm headphone jacks are included, which is a big improvement over it’s siblings, the N70 and N73.

The OS continues to be Symbian, now OS 9.3, S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2, running on a 369 MHz FreeScale Semiconductor 32-bit RISC CPU based on ARM-11 series.

The N78 package bundles Nokia Original Accessories such as the Nokia Stereo Headset WH-600, battery, travel charger, connectivity cable and Nokia Bluetooth Speakers MD-7W. The headset is shaped like a headband whereas the Bluetooth Speakers have a magnetic attachment system.

It features an FM transmitter, which allows you to send output from your phone to an FM receiver as a radio signal, much like the Griffin iTrip with the iPod.

The price of the Nokia N78 is likely to be Rs.19,999 – a true Bata price !!!
