hindustan_unilever.jpgNitin Paranjpe has been appointed as the new CEO and MD at Hindustan Unilever (HUL), replacing Doug Baillie, who will join the Unilever Executive as President, western Europe.

Currently, designated as Executive Director, Home and Personal Care (HPC) business, Paranjpe began his career with HUL in 1987 as a management trainee, and since then has several achievements to his credit, which include creating highly successful brands such as Vim bar, working on key initiatives such as Project Millennium (which involved identifying growth engines for HUL), and strategizing a highly successful counter-attack in response to P&G’s aggressive moves in the laundry segment.

He is an alumnus of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute and at 44, the ever youngest CEO of Hindustan Unilever.

HUL Chairman Harish Manwani said,

“HUL has always had a robust succession plan in place and Nitin’s appointment is a result of that. Our constant focus is to have consistent, competitive and profitable growth and that is what Nitin will also be focusing on.”
