MyBlogLog bans Jeremy Schoemaker
Yahoo’s MyBlogLog, a blogging community service provider, has banned one of the users, Jeremy Schoemaker, aka Shoemoney, from their site after he had posted about flaws in MyBlogLog’s service.
He showed how someone could easily pose as another MyBlogLog user when visiting other websites. Schoemaker published a trick on his site with details on how to do that by changing the cookie placed by the site. The result was that when visiting another blog, the list of visitors would show the spoofed visitor on that person’s “Recent Readers” widget.
MyBlogLog has corrected the problem, but they’ve also banned Schoemaker from their site, saying he should have informed them first rather than go public with this issue.
