Ed Zander had barely stepped down as Motorola CEO, when CTO Padmasree Warrior suddenly decided to pursue other opportunities, and has joined Cisco as their new CTO. She will report to CEO and Chairman John Chambers, who had this to say;

“Padmasree’s new role as CTO will help to develop and promote Cisco’s future technology leadership. Over her distinguished career, Padmasree has demonstrated the key characteristics we prize at Cisco, including an unwavering commitment to customer success and innovation.”

Warrior who is 47, served Motorola for 23 years, and held several positions within the company, such as Corporate VP and GM of Motorola’s Energy Systems Group and Corporate VP and CTO for the Semiconductor Products Sector.

Warrior’s thoughts as written on the Cisco blog;
