Mike Proctor, the Match Referee for the ongoing test series between India and Australia, decided to make his presence felt…. and how !! He dished out a 3 Test ban against Harbhajan Singh, solely on the basis of the word of 5 Australian players, most of whom weren’t even close enough to have heard any racial taunt. Amazingly, there was no shred of evidence whatsoever, and even the umpires did not hear anything.

India was represented by Kumble, Tendulkar, team manager Chetan Chauhan and media manager M V Sridhar.

The BCCI babu’s, always with an eye on politics and votes, and also gauging the public mood, for a change, seemed to back Team India, as they announced they would appeal the ruling, and also allowed the team to stay put in Sydney rather than head to Canberra, putting the remainder of the tour in doubt unless this issue was resolved to their satisfaction.

This was an ”Ugly Aussie” ploy to gang up on Harbhajan and get him evicted from the series, and it is amazing that they have been allowed to succeed, in full glare of the media and public !
