Windows Vista SP1Microsoft has put up Windows Vista Service Pack 1 for download.

It’s not exactly small at almost 727 MB, and they’ve put in a note saying a smaller, more “appropriate” download is available through Windows Update.

Apparently, some programs that are not likely to run are BitDefender Antivirus and Internet Security, version 10; Fujitsu’s Shock Sensor hard drive protection for rugged laptops; two versions of Jiangmin KV Antivirus software, Iron Speed Designer, The New York Times Reader application and Check Point Technologies’ Zone Alarm Security Suite. (update: Zone Alarm seems to have released an update which is compatible with SP1)

On the hardware front, device drivers from RealTek, Intel and Symantec are among those Microsoft said would prevent an upgrade to SP1, but the manufacturers would probably come up with a fix.

Download Vista SP1 from here.
