Amidst the slew of operators rushing to launch IPTV services in India, the latest entrants to that list are Microsoft and Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications.

RComm will invest $500 million as licence fee for Microsoft’s Mediaroom software, as well as an equivalent amount towards the infrastructure requirements, the first phase of which is likely to be completed by March ’08.

The project will be rolled out in phases, with Mumbai and New Delhi getting a first dekko, to be followed by atleast another 30 cities across India.
