Learner’s driving licence online

Yup, this is a fact. All those who were dreading the prospect of going to the RTO and being hounded by agents / touts can now breathe easy.

Not only are you spared the agony of visiting the office, but also that of shelling out some extra moolah, thanks to the Maharashtra RTO, which now allows online registration for getting a learner’s licence.

It is somewhat similar to that for getting a passport, as in, you need to fill in a form giving your particulars, print it and carry photographs with you. The system will generate a date for appointment, and you need to visit the RTO with the form and documents. Make sure you read the instructions clearly – the link to book the appointment is viewable only via Internet Explorer, and not on Firefox or Chrome.

Less painful than before, eh? Happy driving 🙂
