Learner’s driving license – now online
Yup, this is a fact. All those who were dreading the prospect of going to the RTO and being hounded by agents / touts can now breathe easy.
Not only are you spared the agony of visiting the office, but also that of shelling out some extra moolah, thanks to the Maharashtra RTO, which now allows online registration for getting a learner’s licence.
It is somewhat similar to that for getting a passport, as in, you need to fill in a form giving your particulars, print it and carry photographs with you. The system will generate a date for appointment, and you need to visit the RTO with the form and documents.
Less painful than before, eh?

This site is really great. I think this site will go a long way in developing citizen friendly activity. In todays world where two wheelers and four wheelers have become important means of transport in absence of any reliable, comfortable and affordable public transport system in our cities. The need for having driving license is all the more pressing.
The said facility helps citizens by making these forms available on net for free. Also facility of submitting the form and getting appointment date online one can do away with the agents. A great initiative to bring in transparency.
The said site needs to be popularized so that many can use this facility and there by help the Transport Commissioner in his endeavor to bring transperancy.
