After Honda’s much publicised pull out from Formula One and the confusion surrounding an actual buyer, Virgin Group bossman Richard Branson has now thrown his hat into the ring.

Already well known for his flamboyant lifestyle, owning an F1 team will fit in quite nicely with his other businesses. :)

According to him, 

“There are some aspects needed to be tackled. The price of running a Formula One team is astronomical and in this market place that’s an issue. And Formula One should be pioneering green technology and trying to spend a lot of its time and effort in showing that cars can be run as green cars. Those two areas would be prerequisite.”

With the F1 season due to begin in a month, it’s anybody’s guess whether Honda will be a part of the starting grid.
