Amidst all the hoopla and fanfare surrounding it since the past few days, the iPhone finally made it’s long awaited debut in India at the stroke of midnight today.

Also happened to see this article, which said a 14 year old boy was among the first in the country to buy one, with his beaming and proud papa beside him. Nothing wrong with that really, but this is again a clear case of the yuppy-ism that has struck Indians big time over the past 5-6 years. If you have it, flaunt it !

An iPhone for a school going kid?

Just doesn’t make sense to me, especially when we’ve just heard of classmates ready to kill for an iPod !
