India’s hopes of even drawing the Sydney Test came to grief as the two umpires, Messrs. Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson drove in the final nail(s) to seal India’s fate. It is hard to recall another match that had such atrocious umpiring, and especially against one team.

Bucknor, especially, has dealt such blows to the Indian team several times now, and this must be routine for him. He was a good umpire once, but that was a really long long time ago. It is high time he left the game because if he continues, one shudders to think what further horrible decisions he will continue to dish out.

In fact, an article in one of the newspapers analysed all the decisions and concluded that if things had gone the way they should have, India could have actually been on the verge of inflicting an innings defeat on the Aussies.

Just as players like to retire on a “high”, even Bucknor should, as it would be difficult to imagine him surpassing this chart topping performance !! :)
