In the light of recent initiatives about integration and interoperability of social networking sites, the Data Portability Workgroup said they’ve added some new high profile members to their group, namely, Google, Facebook and Plaxo. Some of the other entrants to this group are LinkedIn, Flickr, SixApart, and Twitter.

Their goal is to document best practices for integrating existing open standards and protocols for maximum interoperability, which will allow users of any social networking site to reach out to their friends across all such member sites.

Noble thoughts…. but I wonder if too many cooks will spoil the broth.  :)
