With the addition of new no-frills smart hotels, one of the pioneers of this model, Ginger Hotels is now all set to expand in a big way, and aims to have around 50 hotels by 2010. The chain, run by The Roots Corporation, a subsidiary of Indian Hotels Limited, which also runs the Taj group of hotels, is now four years and eight properties old.


This model is definitely catching on, with more and more travellers looking for a better bang for their buck, rather than paying through their nose for amenities and luxuries which they may not even use during the course of their stay in a hotel.
