After all the Firefox 3 Release Candidates (from 1 to 3), Mozilla has finally announced that Firefox 3 will be officially launched on June 17, 2008.

While I’ve been using the RC’s intermittently and I find quite a lot of improvement, the fact remains that Firefox is a huge memory hog as compared to Opera, and even IE at times. A random check of all running processes confirms this.

In fact, I often open a huge number of tabs in Opera on several occasions and never face memory issues, which sadly isn’t the case with Firefox… yet.

If that is sorted out, well… then we have a pretty much complete package on our hands..
