Those living in Britain and thinking of a quiet night’s sleep after a long day at work got a rude awakening in the form of an earthquake, the biggest in almost 25 years.

The quake, measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale, originated in Lincolnshire, hit around 01.00 am local time, lasted close to 10 seconds and reportedly damaged property worth over £10 million.

When I first heard of it, I was unable to recall the previous instance as one somehow doesn’t associate such natural calamities with Britain, and sure enough, this quake was the biggest in Britain since 1984 when North Wales was hit by a 5.4 level quake.
