The ghosts of the just concluded World Cup seemed to come back to haunt India, as Bangladesh, after winning the toss, elected to bat first in a match already truncated to 47 overs, setting a target of 251.


At 144-5 after 29 overs, India seemed to be looking down the barrel, but thankfully, Dhoni, along with Karthik, saw India through, remaining undefeated on 91.


What bugged me no end was the endless analysis across all TV channels, each with their resident expert, talking about the match result as if it was the most crucial match we’ve ever played!!

God help us if this is what level we’ve come to now…. :)
