BSE includes Sterlite and Tata Power in Sensex
The BSE has decided to tweak the composition of the Sensex, the stock market barometer comprising of 30 stocks.
With effect from July 28 this year, Sterlite Industries and Tata Power will be included in the benchmark index in place of Ambuja Cements and Cipla.
This marks a return for Tata Power, which was a part of the Sensex till June 2006, before being replaced by Reliance Communications.
The index committee of the BSE decided to revise the composition of the Sensex, as well as the BSE-100, BSE-200 and BSE-500 indices, with revisions being effective from July 28 for the Sensex, and June 23 for the other indices.
