If there were any doubts about Pune becoming an upmarket destination for leading brands, they were laid to rest as Audi, one of the top names in luxury cars, opened an exclusive showroom at Pune, spread over 6,500 sq. ft. The company has tied up with Pashankar Auto to showcase their top of the line range, including the Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi A6, Audi A4, and the Audi TT.
The showroom has a total capacity of displaying six cars and a state-of-the-art Audi workshop and premium bodyshop according to the international Audi quality standards. This is the company’s sixth showroom in India after Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gurgaon and Delhi. Kapil Pashankar, MD of the Pune dealership said he expected to sell around 120 units in the current year.
Audi has invested € 20 million at the Aurangabad facility of Group company Skoda, where it makes the Audi A6, and is in the process of investing another € 10 million for making the A4, to be introduced by mid-2008.
