Whoa ! Twitter and Airtel have announced a tie-up !!
In a post on their blog, Twitter welcomed Bharti Airtel as their latest partner, offering an opportunity for Airtel subscribers to send tweets from their mobile phone at standard rates and receive them for free.
According to Twitter co-founder, Biz Stone,

Bharti Airtel is offering people in every city, every village, every remote taluk and even the smallest panchayat the opportunity to connect to Twitter and enjoy the open exchange of information with no added fees. They’ve said this partnership is exclusively for Airtel subscribers for 4 weeks, after which other operators may also offer this facility to their subscribers. Twitter so far has activated full SMS service in the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand.
