Well, well, so after all that promise of the first two days, the final test between India and Australia at Adelaide finally fizzled out into a draw.
It was good to see Sehwag come good, though quite late in the series. Ishant Sharma also came of age, and Pathan made a strong comeback.
Just after the test ended, the Appeals Commissioner, John Hansen threw a googly by stating that the evidence from the stump microphone would be used during the hearing to decide Harbhajan’s fate. Harbhajan had been banned by Match Referee Mike Proctor earlier.
As expected, there was a furore over this, and the backroom boys from the BCCI and the ACB got together and worked out a compromise. The racism charges against Harbhajan were dropped, though he was held guilty of using offensive language and fined 50% of his match fees, avoiding the threat of the 3-test ban.
So everyone is happy, and the tour goes on, but I’m surprised how none of the Aussies faced any censure for any of their unsportsmanlike activities.
I really wonder why we Indians are always the ones to land in shit !!
